Redmond, Carpenter and Four Oaks
Redmond and Carpenter House are Residential Treatment Facilities located in Franklin County for adult men and women whose primary diagnosis is a severe mental health disorder, and who have experienced multiple psychiatric hospitalizations and chronic difficulties living independently in the community directly related to their mental health disorder. Four Oaks is a residential treatment facility located in Harrison County Ohio. Please note that these Residential Treatment Facilities are dedicated to serving individuals living within the specific counties (Redmond and Carpenter House - Franklin County; Four Oaks - Belmont, Harrison, and Monroe Counties).
Residents experience 24-hour staffing, medication monitoring, nursing and house management by an independently licensed social worker. In addition to programming at the houses, all residents can participate in any clinical service (including primary care) offered at Southeast.
Utilities, cable, phone, food and laundry supplies are also included.
Eligible residents will experience a therapeutic environment where skills are taught to help manage their mental and physical health, and medication regimen. Staff will assist residents in learning and maintaining habits of basic community and personal living skills so they can graduate to the least restrictive setting after the program.
To engage residents in the treatment process, a variety of therapeutic approaches are used including:
- Motivational Interviewing
- Solution-focused Therapy
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Motivational Enhancement Therapy
- Trans-theoretical Change Model
Family and primary supports are welcome to participate in their loved one’s recovery. Attending treatment team meetings and visiting is encouraged.
Redmond House serves adult men with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness and dual diagnoses. Redmond is located on the west side of Columbus and is conveniently located on the COTA bus line.
Carpenter House offers a unique gender-specific, comprehensive program for adult women, living with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness and dual diagnoses located on the south side of Columbus also along the COTA bus line.

Four Oaks Residential Treatment Facility in Belmont County
Residential Facility for adult men and women whose primary diagnosis is a severe mental health disorder and who have experienced multiple psychiatric hospitalizations, and chronic difficulties living independently in the community directly related to their mental health disorder.
Four Oaks provides supervision and supports to residents daily from 9:00am to 9:00pm. Personal care services, and medication monitoring are provided to the residents.
Eligible residents will experience a therapeutic environment where skills are taught to help manage their mental and physical health, and medication regimen. Staff will assist residents in learning and maintaining habits of basic community and personal living skills with the goal of transitioning to independent living.
All residents are actively participating in mental health treatment. Residential staff and case management coordinate this through referrals to appropriate programs, treatment planning and the provision of symptom management skills. Group therapy is provided in the home. The average length of stay varies according to individual needs and ability to transition to independent living. Residents are encouraged to participate in activities outside of the home taking walks, visiting with family and friends, and attending community social functions.
Four Oaks provides income based housing for severely mentally disabled adults through HUD’s Section 202/8 program. The facility is accredited by the Joint Commission and Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services. It is a 12 bed facility.
Utilities, satellite TV, food, and laundry services are included.
